You ask why I smile
When people spit hate at me?
Why I don't curse back
When there words attack me.
You asked me if I was scared
And I smiled back "hardly".
You asked me how I could allow
Them to get away with "that"
You said that I'm a coward
When I didn't fight back.
You said not showing my physical strength
Makes me less of a man
You said that my peaceful demeanor
You didn't understand.
You said my road
Would only lead to disaster
But how could you get me
If we don't have the same Master?
Of course what I do to you would seem odd
Because you and are bound to different god's.
God.
I'd rather be fueled by love than driven by hate.
That's who I am, you choose your fate.
Me? I know who I am, still being a man.
And even if you don't see it my fam,
I believe I am truly gifted, blessed by God I be.

I Ain't Afraid To Be Me.

I ain't got to be
What nobody else want me to be
And I ain't afraid to be
What I wanna be

She looks at him gently
"I shouldn't say hi"
As she stares her mind races
"But he is kind of fly...
"I've got to stay focused
I don't need to meet a guy"
But it's far too late for that thought
Cause she's already caught his eye.
"I wonder if she notices me"
"Nah, stick to the task
You can't balance her in your plans...
But she moves with such class.
Perhaps I'll head over,
And just say hello.
And leave it up to her
To see how things go"
As he closes the gap
Between her and she,
He thinks to himself
"This walk is taking an eternity!"
It's funny how a moment
Can seem like such a long while.
"He's coming over,
Okay, girl smile that pretty smile"
As he approaches she smiles
And he wonders what to say
"Umm, Hi.. Hello...
How are you today?"
He follows with his name
and an awkward yet sincere handshake
She replies with her name
"And a pleasure your acquaintance to make"
They speak for a few moments
And find they share many of the same affections
And as they leave each others presence
They both are thankful for the genuine connection.
Their journey begins,
Where it will lead only the Universe knows
But in their hearts one thing is clear
They'll journey to where it goes.

Pearl white beams of light
Shining bright against the night-
Like complexion of my skin
"But will I let Her in?"
Only time will tell
If I'll forgive me of my sins.
She is more beautiful than a sunrise
And the day that I open my eyes
I looked at her
Which made me look into me
And in the depths
Of my heart I see-
Sawed back and forth
Almost cut myself in two
For the "Him" she see's
Is the "Him" I never knew
It's true
It's strange
And I'm a stranger to myself
And although I stand strong alone
I could really use Her help
You know what they say
"A woman makes everything better"
So even though I'm good all by myself
I'm a force when we're together...
However
I'm a force unto my own
So can I really share my throne?
Nay, not 'til the battle within my kingdom
Has completely come to an end
Til' the corruption has been halted
And the damage I can mend...
But perhaps it's already over
I just don't see it yet
Perhaps it's this war that gives me

That if I look out this window
Outside just past the walls that "protect"
