"Enjoy Yourself"

When we were kids most of us were pretty care free. We ran, played, laughed, explored and just plain old enjoyed life! Little discoveries brought so much joy and small moments were met with grand pleasure - give a little kid an 'amazing' high tech toy in a big plain ol' box - if given the choice guess which item they'll choose to play with.

Then somewhere along they way we are ingrained with the mantra's of hard work and no fun.
Words like Should replace Could and Reaching a destination replaces the drive.

I'm not saying any of those things in and of themselves are bad, just sometimes we need to look back and find the parts of 'the kid' that we've left behind.

To quote a man who brought much joy to millions;

"Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself
Enjoy yourself for me
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself
Enjoy yourself for me"

But do it for you.

Just a thought.

Ramble #2764 - "Stupid? Cool? What?"

Uncle Ben said it best:
"With great power comes greaet responsibility."

When you have the power to say something and you don't - that is your power being wasted. During the course of a day, a week, a month, a year and a lifetime you will encounter many people who's life you will either make better cause you passed through or worse.
Now I've had my share of the latter and I am by no stretch of any imagination - not even the vastness of my own - anywhere near a saint but this is a lesson that was taught to me young and stuck with me thus far.

"You've got to do something so it may as well be good" Grandma once said to me so here I am - "doing something"

Topic of the Day
Stupidity becoming cool.
Whether it's the reality television shows, the lyrics of some of the more popular songs, the fake image of "urban" culture (1. Yes fake and 2 "urban" which at some point became the new word for "black" and not the word to describe a geographic area).

There are far too many intelligent examples of everything (music, shows, people etc...) for us to blame the media - so what is the infatuation with ignorance? I'm listening if you have an answer.

Pause.

New movement - Smart is Cool! In whatever. Heck what you know is always more interesting that what you pretend not to know - at least to the cats I know.
Ladies, I'm talking to you here too. Some of the sexiest most beautiful women I know are using their brains and still possess beautiful bodies.
Coaches, Analysts, Entrepreneurs... I'm just saying

Read (a book preferably from time to time). Write (anything). Converse in full sentences. These are just a few ways to forward the movement. Oh, and start telling the truth more often... and mostly to yourself cause you know that smart is sexy, that creative is cool, that intelligence is in.

Just a thought.
